WHAT’S TO LOVE ABOUT PARK GROVE | COCONUT GROVE
.
Park Grove is one of the newest condominiums to be added to the Coconut Grove skyline. Comprised of three towers and a total of 276 residences, Park Grove is known for its elegant amenities and incredible design. It was the first commercial project designed by OMA and Rem Koolhaas in the United States. Koolhaas was winner of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. The team studied the history and geography of Coconut Grove so that the towers would reflect and respect the landscape. They even used artist Christo’s 1983 installation of the “Surrounded Islands” (giant pink swaths of fabric that encircled the islands of Biscayne Bay) as inspiration when conceptualizing the shapes of the towers. They thought of every detail from the perspective of the residents, including adding two elevator cores in each building so residents don’t have to walk down a long corridor to get to their unit. They designed the residences to offer panoramic views of their surroundings, whether looking towards Biscayne Bay, Downtown Miami or the tree canopy of Coconut Grove. And the common areas were also strategically placed to capture the views.
.
The interiors of Park Grove were designed by the acclaimed New York firm of Meyer Davis: “”For us, the furnishing and decorative element of the building complements the architecture, but we also wanted to reflect the lighthearted and bohemian informality of Coconut Grove.” Thus you will find tropical elements mixed with eccentric art throughout the common areas and residences feature stone floors and natural stained woods to create a sense of organic warmth. Some of the spaces feature art pieces from the personal collection of developer Jorge Perez.
Landscape architect Enzo Enea is the mastermind behind the gorgeous gardens of Park Grove. Enea is recognized for his ability to blend the indoors with the outdoor world. Wallpaper Magazine recently stated that Enea is “the go-to guy for creating lush green spaces that combine head-turning showmanship with a nuanced eye for balance and intimacy.” The grounds feature 5 acres of privately owned and meticulously landscaped grounds with over 500 square feet of bayfront pools making Park Grove a true paradise on earth.
Park Grove tapped William Sofield to design the kitchens and baths of the residences. His work is characterized by a holistic approach to design that encompasses the requirements of living and a response to locale. In his designs, materials and architectural details take their cue from the context of the project. At Park Grove, Sofield used a natural color palette and details like Italian cabinetry and sophisticated stone countertops to strike a balance between aesthetic impact and everyday comfort.
Park Grove is a joint venture between the two powerhouse developers of Terra Group and Related. Other projects completed by Terra Group in Coconut Grove include Grove at Grand Bay designed by Bjarke Ingels, and Mr. C Residences, another co-venture with The Related Group.
